The way we speak is a physical action which can be changed by working through a series of specific exercises, including mouth positioning, intonation, breathing and listening exercises. You will learn how to recognize the differences between your mother tongue and the English accent and develop a clear, engaging English accent.

These courses are ideal for fluent non-native English speakers who wish to soften their accent, improve pronunciation or who want to learn techniques to develop a more powerful and engaging voice.

Group courses

Evening/Saturday Courses give you a regular structured course, with the benefit of interaction with other people. At £254 for 16 one-hour sessions, it is also the more economic choice. Our unique course, delivered by our BA qualified specialist communication coach has successfully helped many people to change their accent.


Private tuition

Private tuition provides lessons tailored specifically to your needs and you have 100% of the trainer's attention. Our trainer can run sessions from 9am to 8pm (according to availability). Private sessions cost £45 an hour. We recommend our 10 hour accent training course at £395, which includes course materials.


Joanne Wilde - runs the Accent Reduction Courses. Joanne holds a B.A in Acting from one of the leading Drama Schools in London and works across the public and private sectors teaching Voice and Communication. Joanne has helped many non-native speakers of English to soften their accents and communicate more effectively.

What happens in a typical lesson?

Over 8 focused lessons you will learn the essentials of correct English pronunciation. We do not promise that your accent will completely disappear after the course but we empower you to be your own accent coach - to understand all the changes you need to make, so that you can apply them consistently to your speech, self-correcting, until you have easily made permanent improvements to your pronunciation.

  • Warm up - getting your mouth and vocal muscles ready to make the new sounds.

  • Vowels - learning English long and short vowel sounds. You will be given feedback on exactly where your accent or pronunciation differs from those sounds.

  • Consonants - learning the appropriate position of the tongue and lips for accurate consonants plus exercises to make new neural sounds.

  • Intonation - guidance and feedback to achieving effective intonation. consonants plus exercises to make new neural sounds.

  • Recording - you will record yourself and compare different sounds.
